Fall preview returns to Mid-Missouri
Following a strong line of storms that swept through Mid-Missouri late Monday night and early Tuesday morning, we’re seeing a return of fall weather across the Midwest.
Several areas across Mid-Missouri saw up to 2 inches of rain as the frontal boundary pulled through the region, but once it cleared clouds have been slowly on the decrease.
As high pressure continues to build into the region, we will see several days of below average temperatures and humidity values that will make it feel more like fall.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere we’ll maintain a northwesterly flow, which will aid in keeping the unseasonably cooler air in place.
For most of August we have seen below average temperatures, with the temperature trend being almost three degrees below average.
The good news for those who are fans of fall, is that our temperature trend is likely to stay below average through the rest of this month.
The Climate Prediction Center not only shows the below average trend staying with us, but drier conditions building into the region as we head into September.
