Storms Monday night, cooler air moves in
TONIGHT: Showers and t-storms will increase overnight and bring heavy rain. The threat for severe weather is very low overnight. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Chariton , Pettis , and Saline counties until 10 AM Tuesday. Most areas will pick up a half inch or more rainfall by Tuesday morning. A stripe of heavier rain is likely along I-70 and west of HWY 63 where up to 2 inches is possible which could lead to flooding.
TUESDAY: Storms will decrease early Tuesday morning, exiting our southeastern counties near I-44. Skies will become partly sunny with westerly winds shifting to the north up to 8 mph. High temperatures will reach the lower 80s.
EXTENDED: Cooler and drier air filter into the region Tuesday night with low temperatures falling into the upper 50s. The rest of the week features highs near 80 with overnight lows in the upper 50s and mostly sunny skies, feeling like fall.
