Expert and novice eclipse chasers gather in Columbia

The total solar eclipse attracted veteran and novice eclipse chasers to Columbia on Monday. Abi Ghosh, who was on his second total solar eclipse, said this was the first time he was well equipped for the event.

“This was my first time being serious about it with all this equipment,” Ghosh said after totality on Monday. “I’m hoping to come out with a nice panoramic view of all that i got.”

Donald Hall, another eclipse enthusiast, says it’s impossible to describe the feeling of seeing a total solar eclipse. “i don’t know that i could put it into words,” said Hall. “The feelings that comes across you when you see something like this. I sure hope I get to feel it again.”
