Storms move out, hot weekend ahead

TONIGHT: Showers and t-storms will end by 3 AM with partly cloudy skies into the early morning hours with possible patchy fog. Lows will drop into the mid to upper 60s with a light southwesterly breeze, shifting to the northwest by morning.

SATURDAY: Some clouds will linger west of HWY 63 in the morning, clearing to mostly sunny skies through the afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s with a light north breeze under 5 mph, shifting to the southeast Saturday night.

EXTENDED: We are watching for possible showers west of HWY 63 in the early morning as a dying cluster of storms in Kansas drops to the southeast. If these occur, they would be light and end by mid-morning. Under partly cloudy skies, Sunday will be hot and more humid as temperatures reach 90. The humidity will make it feel like the low to mid 90s. Eclipse day continues to show the greatest chance for partly cloudy skies, along with a chance for some isolated storms through the morning. Temperatures will reach close to 87 at the start of the eclipse and fall to the low 70s by mid-eclipse, due to the lack of solar insulation. As the eclipse ends, temperatures will rise back into the low to mid 80s. A better chance of storms moves in Tuesday afternoon ahead of a cold front.
