Pike County man arrested on suspicion of murder

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 60-year-old man Friday night after domestic disturbance turned deadly in rural Bowling Green.

Officials said deputies were called to a home of Highway Y around 10:15 p.m. where they found Alexander Koch, 31, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Koch later died at the hospital.

Deputies arrested Michael Black on suspicion of first degree murder and armed criminal action. He’s being held in the Pike County Jail on a $1 million cash only bond.

Investigators said Black and Koch had been in a fight prior to the shooting. They said Black left the home, returned 15 minutes later and continued their conversation outside the home. Deputies said that’s when Black shot Koch.
