Heat & humidity continues through the weekend
TONIGHT: We will see mostly clear and dry conditions tonight with mild temperatures. Overnight lows will bottom-out in the mid to upper 60s with light winds shifting out of the southeast.
TOMORROW: By the morning we will see clouds on the increase from the northwest leading to partly sunny skies. Into the afternoon temperatures are going to be climbing into the lower 90s, feeling more like the upper 90s. There is a slight chance for spotty afternoon showers and thunderstorms, but nothing will be severe.
EXTENDED: Eclipse day continues to show the greatest chance for partly cloudy skies, along with a chance for some isolated storms through the morning. Storms look more likely north of I-70. Temperatures will reach close to 87 at the start of the eclipse and fall to the low 70s by mid-eclipse, due to the lack of solar insulation. As the eclipse ends, temperatures will rise back into the upper 80s, approaching 90. Hot and humid conditions will allow heat indices to approach 100 degrees on Monday. A better chance of storms moves in Tuesday afternoon ahead of a cold front. By Wednesday we are looking dry again, with mostly sunny skies and cooler temps in the low 80s.
