Storms Friday night, warming weekend

TONIGHT: Clear skies through the night will allow temperatures to drop steadily into the lower 60s with a light westerly breeze up to 6 mph. It is possible that river valleys and areas south of HWY 50 could see some patchy fog by daybreak.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny skies will boost temperatures into the upper 80s with southwesterly winds up to 8 mph. After 7 PM, spotty storms are possible north HWY 24, tracking to the southeast through midnight. Isolated severe storms are possible, mainly west of HWY 63 which could contain strong wind gusts to 60 mph or large hail to the size of quarters. Storms will move out by 3 AM.

EXTENDED: Saturday will be mostly sunny and warm with high temperatures in the upper 80s and a light northwesterly breeze, making for a great late-summer day. Sunday will be hot and more humid as temperatures reach 90 under partly cloudy skies. The humidity will make it feel like the low to mid 90s. Eclipse day continues to show the greatest chance for partly cloudy skies, along with a chance for some isolated storms by the afternoon. Temperatures will reach close to 87 at the start of the eclipse and fall to the low 70s by mid-eclipse, due to the lack of solar insolation. As the eclipse ends, temperatures will rise back into the low to mid 80s. A better chance of storms moves in Tuesday afternoon ahead of a cold front.
