Pulaski County woman charged with 30 counts of animal abuse

A Pulaski County woman has been charged with 30 counts of animal abuse after three dead animals and multiple other abused animals were found in her care.

On March 25, deputies were called to the 17000 block of Highway T for a welfare check and a report of animal neglect.

A miniature horse was found on the property, which belonged to Michelle Peters. Ten horses were also found in a pasture near the 23000 block of Broadway Road. Only three horses and the miniature horse were able to be taken into custody.

The miniature horse suffered from overgrown feet and worms. The other horses suffered from various problems, including overgrown feet, dehydration, teeth problems, emaciation, ear mites and high temperatures.

On March 27, deputies were called to Michelle Peters’ home on the 17000 block of Highway T, where they found a dead dog, cat and rabbit. The animals appeared to have died from malnourishment, abandonment and improper care.
