Clearing skies and low humidity for Thursday afternoon
TODAY: It’s still a cloudy afternoon across parts of Mid-Missouri, but drier air filtering in from the west is helping to clear skies. Temperature wise, we are seeing the thermometer climb into the mid 70s this afternoon. Once skies clear, we’ll see temperatures climb into the mid 80s, with winds out of the west up to 15 mph.
TONIGHT: Clear skies through the night will allow temperatures to drop steadily into the lower 60s. Conditions will remain dry with a breeze out of the west from 5 to 8 mph. It is possible that river valleys and areas south of Hwy 50 could see some patchy fog by daybreak.
EXTENDED: Skies will be mostly sunny Friday with high temperatures reaching the upper 80s. Our next chance of rain comes Friday night into Saturday morning. We could see a few strong storms associated with this overnight event, as another cold front will be tracking through Mid-Missouri. Rainfall totals could range from 0.1″-0.5″ from these isolated storms. Saturday afternoon we will see drying conditions as the summer-like weather continues. Temperatures will climb to near 90 by Sunday with partly cloudy skies. It will be hot and humid through the weekend. Eclipse day continues to show the greatest chance for partly cloudy skies, along with a chance for some isolated showers by the afternoon.
