DeBrodie’s financial support required monthly, in-person visits

The Missouri Department of Mental Health confirmed to ABC 17 News that Second Chance Homes Of Fulton, LLC was the individual supported living residence of Carl DeBrodie before he disappeared in April and was found dead.

As the contracted management agency for his case, Callaway County Special Services was required to perform monthly, face-to-face visits with DeBrodie in order to “monitor health, environment/safety, exercising of rights, services, staff, money and satisfaction.”

According to the policy directive, the face-to-face visits are required to be documented with information including “resolved or unresolved issues, travel time and identification of persons seen/spoken to during the visit.”

It is still unclear how long DeBrodie was missing before the report was filed, but in a letter issued by the director of Missouri’s Department of Mental Health, the investigation indicates that time period is longer than previously expected.

ABC 17 News submitted a request for the documentation of the required, in-person visits with DeBrodie.
