Camden County man assaults wife, damages patrol vehicle

Deputies arrived at a home off of Hidden Drive in Camdenton on Monday night in reference to a domestic assault.

When deputies arrived, the suspect’s wife had visible injuries after being hit by her husband in the face and choked.

The suspect, a 35-year-old man, had left the scene before deputies got there in a red 2010 F-150 pick up truck. Deputies found the suspect driving in the area of Highway 54 and the North 5 exit.

Deputies executed a traffic stop in the area of north Highway 5 and Harvest Road and the suspect stopped. As deputies asked him to exit his vehicle, the suspect put his vehicle in gear and fled from the deputies.

As one of the deputies attempted to pass the fleeing suspect, the suspect began ramming the patrol vehicle several times on the dry gap bridge prior to the Niangua Bridge, disabling the patrol vehicle. The suspect continued to the area of his home and traveled through a ditch, disabling his vehicle.

The suspect exited his vehicle and advanced on the deputies, when the suspect was subdued by a stun gun. His identity will be withheld until he is formally charged.
