Feeling more like summer, storms return
TONIGHT: The partly cloudy skies will persist through the evening hours, with a noticeable difference in humidity. Thanks to southerly winds it will remain humid across Mid-Missouri with temperatures bottoming out near 70 degrees. Winds through the night will be out of the south under 8 mph.
TUESDAY: Patchy fog is possible in the morning with partly cloudy skies. Isolated storms are possible north of I-70 in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s with heat indices climbing into the lower 90s. Winds will remain under 7 mph from the south.
EXTENDED: It will stay warm and muggy with increasing storm chances Tuesday night from the west with low temperatures only dropping into low 70s. Scattered showers and t-storms will move through the area Wednesday morning. As these end, skies will become partly sunny with high temperatures reaching the upper 80s Wednesday and heat indices reaching the upper 90s due to the humidity. More storms are possible late in the afternoon Wednesday through Wednesday night as a cold front moves through. Some of these will produce heavy rain. Rainfall amounts of .50″ to 1.0″ are expected in most areas with some areas getting up to 1.50″ due to heavy rain in some storms. Highest rainfall amounts are expected west of HWY 63 and north of I-70 from Tuesday through Wednesday. Any lingering showers early Thursday morning will end and we’ll be dry until Friday night with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s to end the work week. Our next chance of rain comes Friday night into Saturday as the summer-like weather continues. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
