Second arrest made in Clinton police officer shooting death
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed another man has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of Clinton Police Officer Gary Michael.
Clinton resident William Noble was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with felony tampering with evidence.
According to the Associated Press, Sgt. Bill Lowe said that during the course of an interview, investigators determined that Noble had disposed of the rifle believed to have been used in the killing.
Lowe had previously said a gun had been found in a creek about two miles north of Clinton.
Ian McCarthy is charged with first degree murder in the death of Officer Michael. He is set to be arraigned Friday morning.
Lowe said the relationship between McCarthy and Noble is not yet known.
