Man accused of killing Clinton police officer pleads not guilty
Ian McCarthy, the man who was charged with murder and armed criminal action in connection to the shooting death of a Clinton police officer, has pleaded not guilty.
McCarthy appeared by video for his hearing at the Henry County Court.
ABC 17 News previously reported that McCarthy was taken into custody without any problems on Tuesday evening. He was taken to a Kansas City-area hospital for treatment.
The patrol said it was thrilled McCarthy was in custody and that hopefully McCarthy’s capture could provide some relief to the area’s citizens.
