SURVEILLANCE VIDEO: Suspect and police vehicles drive by before shooting

Security footage shows some of the last moments before a police officer was shot and killed in Clinton, Mo.

ABC 17 News got the video from Clinton Convenience Store one day after the shooting claimed the life of Officer Gary Michael.

Michael was shot during a traffic stop. The suspected trigger man, Ian McCarthy, was still on the run as of Monday night, charged with murder and armed criminal action.

Moments after 10:46 p.m. on Sunday night, the video shows Ian McCarthy’s Dodge Nitro turn left onto Green Street followed by officer Michael’s car with his lights on.

They both pull over just out of view of the camera.

90 seconds later, another officer pulls onto Green Street. It’s the first of many.

Less than a minute, another Clinton Police car and a Henry County Sheriff car arrive on scene.

About six minutes after the shooting, an ambulance also arrives.

A distressed crowd of people can be seen forming next to the gas station.
