Cooler, drier air Friday, storms return this weekend
TONIGHT: Skies will clear with winds out of the northwest up to 10 mph. By Friday morning it will be cool as overnight lows drop into the mid to upper 50s.
FRIDAY: It will feel more like September as high temperatures will only top out in the mid to upper 70s under mostly sunny skies. We’ll have a northwesterly breeze near 10 mph.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will dip into the upper 50s Friday night and reach the upper 70s to near 80 Saturday. This will be about 8-12 degrees below average for the first week of August. A chance of showers and thunderstorms returns as we head through the afternoon hours, with rain increasing overnight. Heavy rain is possible Saturday night through early Sunday morning with highest rain totals west of HWY 63. Some areas could see 1-3″ rain which we’ll monitor for flooding potential.
