A cold front brings storms and cool temperatures

On Thursday a strong cold front will push through mid-Missouri bringing a chance for storms followed by unseasonably cool temperatures. Storms look to begin during the afternoon, but will likely be scattered in nature during this time. As we head into the late afternoon to early evening hours a slightly more defined line of storms looks likely, but will still remain fairly scattered through most of mid-Missouri. With these storms no severe weather is expected, but wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph.

This system will quickly push off to the southeast through the overnight hours, likely out of the area by midnight. This will usher in dry conditions and cool temperatures for the start of the weekend. With this fast moving storm track we can expect fairly low rainfall totals. Most areas will receive less than .50″.

Humidity will be significantly lower behind the front as dew points top out in the 50s. Daytime highs will be up to 10 degrees below average, in the 70s. Overnight lows will also drop into the 50s.
