Man arrested for attempted robbery at Dairy Queen

A man has been arrested, accused of attempting to rob a Columbia Dairy Queen Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the suspect entered the restaurant on Business Loop 70, showed a knife at his hip to an employee and demanded money.

When the employee refused to give the suspect money, the suspect left.

Police said they found the suspect, Vincent Ferrell, 47, of Mexico, Mo. walking around Coats Street and Fairview Avenue.

As of Tuesday night, Ferrell was being held in the Boone County Jail.
