Former Columbia resident sentenced to 10 years in prison for child porn
A former Columbia resident was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Boone County court on Monday for two counts of first degree promoting child pornography and 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
Daniel Teare, who now lives in New York, was found guilty during a jury trial that started on June 20.
On Feb. 27, 2015, Teare was arrested in Saratogo County, New York. On April 21, 2014, a Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force detective traced and downloaded multiple child pornography videos from a computer in Boone County.
According to the official release, a detective from the Independence Police Department had download multiple child pornography videos on April 24, 2014 from the same location.
On May 16, 2014 detectives served a court ordered search warrant at a home in Boone County and seized multiple electronic items.
