Comfortable Tuesday evening, with patchy fog likely

TONIGHT: Any lingering showers and storms that fired during the afternoon hours, will taper off through the evening. It will be a comfortable night under partly cloudy skies, as temperatures will drop into the mid 60s. With light winds under 5 mph, we’ll see patchy fog develop in low lying areas and near river beds.

WEDNESDAY: Thanks to a calm night with plenty of moisture at the surface, patchy fog is likely to affect morning commute. You’ll want to go ahead and prepare for extra time just to be on the safe side. Outside of the threat of fog, temperatures will start off in the 60s and gradually climb into the mid and upper 80s by the afternoon. With humid conditions in place, we will see heat indices approach 90 degrees, but overall Wednesday will feel fairly comfortable. Spotty storms are possible through the afternoon, mainly near I-44, with most of Mid-Missouri remaining on the dry side.

EXTENDED: Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week before another cold front moves in Thursday, bringing scattered showers and t-storms in the afternoon. With most of the energy well to the north of Mid-Missouri, we likely won’t see many strong storms. Most of the rain will arrive in the afternoon. Despite the cold front being strong, heavy rain isn’t a threat, as most places will only see around .25″ of rain.. High temperatures will reach the mid 80s Thursday but will cool into the mid to upper 70s Friday with a northerly breeze and mostly sunny skies. Friday night will be unseasonably cool as we dip into the upper 50s. The mild weather will continue into the weekend as high temperatures only reach near 80. A chance of showers and t-storms returns Sunday. Watch ABC17 News and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for continued updates.
