Dry weather to continue into next week

With surface high pressure settling just north of Missouri for the next few days, this will set us up for clear skies, low humidity, and a lack of significant rain. We don’t expect any rain until a cold front passes through by late next week. Although chances are slim as of now, this is our only foreseeable chance for rain for the week.

A minor drought is in effect for portions of southern Mid-Missouri and northern Missouri. Luckily this drought is categorized as short term, so these dry conditions are expected to last less than six months. To break this dry pattern though, we need frequent rain chances throughout the week, which is something our forecast lacks. A change in this pattern may come by early to mid-August.
