Sedalia man arrested for felony stealing
A Sedalia man has been arrested for felony stealing after leaving a Dollar General and K-Mart without paying for his items.
On June 25, Pettis County police officers were called to the Dollar General on 619 N. Ohio for a theft. James Kempf was identified as the suspect, who stole a phone worth $44.
On July 14, officers were called to the K-Mart on 1400 S. Limit for a theft. Kempf was again identified as the suspect. Kempf used a screw driver to break a plastic jewelry case and stole $1,561.91 worth of jewelry. The damage to the case was estimated at $150.
Kempf did not admit to from stealing from Dollar General, but did steal from K-Mart. Kempf said he gave the jewely back to an employee.
Kemp was arrested for misdemeanor stealing, felony stealing and second degree property damage.
