Two arrested in Moniteau County for possession of meth

Deputies with the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office saw some suspicious activity inside of Proctor Park in California, Mo. on Tuesday.

The deputies approached a vehicle inside the park occupied by Roxanne Mowrey, 42, of Lantham and Edgar Walters, 40, of California.

Walters had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Moniteau County for failure to appear in court. Deputies also found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Walters.

Deputies called for a K-9 unit to respond to the scene to check the vehicle. Deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle.

Both Mowrey and Walters are waiting on formal charges to be filed, but were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
