Heat Advisory Wednesday for most of Mid-Missouri

A Heat Advisory goes into effect at noon Wednesday and continues until 8 PM for all of Mid-Missouri except Chariton, Macon, Randolph, Audrain and Monroe counties.

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid 90s Wednesday afternoon and when combined with the humidity, these will produce heat index readings from 103 to 107 degrees. Below are forecast heat indices at 4 PM Wednesday.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will result in an increased potential for heat related illnesses. The very young, the elderly and those without access to air conditioning are at the highest risk.

Relief will arrive Thursday as cooler air moves in, dropping our high temperatures into the upper 80s to near 90. Heat indices Thursday will stay in the low to mid 90s.
