Seasonable and quiet Monday afternoon
TODAY: This afternoon is one of those days you can’t beat. After being stuck inside from the brutal heat last week, we’re finally seeing temperatures more manageable. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 80s under sunny skies, with little in the way of heat indices. Thanks to a cold front, humidity will be on the lower side and wills tay like that with winds out of the northeast under 10 mph.
TONIGHT: Another cool night in comparison as temperatures will be bottoming out in the 60s again under mostly clear skies. We will send winds light out of the east under 8 mph.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will begin to warm up again by Tuesday, rising back into the lower 90s as heat builds from the west. As we head into the middle of the week, we’ll see a ridge build right back into Mid-Missouri. This ridge won’t be as strong as the recent heat wave we saw, as an approaching cold front will help suppress the hot and humid weather. We will see a brief stint of heat as temperatures Wednesday will be in the mid 90s, with heat indices near 105. By Thursday and Friday, the cold front will drop into the area, giving Mid-Missouri another chance for rain and storms along with another cool down.
