Man accused of punching, beating a woman with a flashlight

A man is charged after Boone County deputies say he assaulted a woman Saturday.

Deputies say they were dispatched to the incident Saturday night. That’s where a woman said Thomas Penrose entered her house, dragged her by her ponytail, punched her several times on both sides of her face and hit her with a flashlight. She also told deputies Penrose pulled a gun, put it to her head and threatened her life.

Penrose was arrested and is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of domestic assault.
