Car left running in garage in Jefferson City leaves one dead, two in critical condition

Jefferson City police, the fire department and Cole County EMS were called to a home on Sandra Drive just after 7 a.m. Saturday for a medical emergency.

Inside the home, 51-year-old Troy Feltrop was found dead from what appeared to be a carbon monoxide incident. Lisa Feltrop, 44, and a 14-year-old girl were both taken to the hospital. As of Saturday afternoon, police said the two were in critical condition.

Detectives with the Jefferson City Police Department said a car had been left running in the garage overnight causing the house to fill with carbon monoxide.

Investigators said the incident appears to be accidental.

A prayer service is being held at Helias Chapel at 5:30 p.m. Counselors will be available until 8 p.m.

A GoFundMe account was created to assist the family with funeral expenses and medical bills.
