Columbia police make arrest after man runs from traffic stop
UPDATE 7/20:
A Columbia man was arrested after he ran from a traffic stop in northeast Columbia Wednesday night.
Police said officers pulled over Anthony Johnson-Harris for dark tinted windows and for not using his turn signal near Sylvan Lane and Whitegate Drive around 6:15 p.m.
According to police, Johnson-Harris stepped out of his vehicle and wouldn’t give officers his name or date of birth. When police told him that he was under arrest, Johnson-Harris ran away.
Police later found and arrested Johnson-Harris in a pool in the 2200 block of Whitegate Drive at 7:16 p.m. Officers said a search of his vehicle led to the discovery of a marijuana and a bong. Police also found Johnson-Harris had a suspended license.
At last check, formal charges haven’t been filed against Johnson-Harris. He has bonded out of the Boone County jail.

The Columbia Police Department is searching for a man after a traffic stop on Wednesday night.
Police tell ABC 17 News the suspect took off near the Sylvan Lane and Whitegate Drive intersection after he pushed an officer out of the way.
Police said officers discovered drugs while searching the man’s car. A police dog was called to the scene to assist with the search.
ABC 17 News is told that police know who the man is and that he isn’t a danger to the community.
At last check, the suspect had not been taken into custody.
