Hot, humid weather continues through Saturday

TONIGHT: It will stay warm and muggy overnight with lows only dropping into the low 70s under mostly clear skies and light winds. Clouds will increase north of I-70 after midnight with a slight shower chance through 8 AM Wednesday for Chariton and Saline counties.

WEDNESDAY: An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect from Wednesday until 8 PM Saturday for most of Mid-Missouri except Camden, Pulaski and Phelps counties which are under a Heat Advisory due to slightly lower heat indices up to 104. Hot, humid weather continues with high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 90s and heat indices of 100-106 in the afternoon. Winds will stay under 6 mph from the southwest under mostly sunny skies.

EXTENDED: The heat continues to build for the end of the week as high temperatures reach the mid to upper 90s and heat indices climb to 103 in the Ozarks but as high as 110 farther north. It will stay dry through Saturday but rain chances increase Saturday night in northern Missouri as a cold front drops south. This will bring a slight storm chance to areas north of I-70 Sunday morning. Most areas will stay dry until Sunday afternoon and evening as scattered storms are possible. This will bring relief from the heat with high temperatures staying in the lower 90s Sunday and upper 80s by Monday. Some storms are still possible Monday, depending on how fast the cold front moves south and out of the area. We will have updates on storm chances through the week.
