Another heat wave could impact mid-Mo

As we head into the weekend, mid-Missouri will receive a slight cool down for Friday and Saturday as temperatures drop slightly below average, but that will quickly change as we head into next week. Another building ridge will help for temperatures to return to above average.

As the ridge begins to dominate the mid-west starting on Tuesday, we will see temperatures return into the mid 90s with dew points approaching the 70s. This will create a very similar set up to the past week. As you’re headed outside you can expect another round of hot and muggy conditions. Rain chances are looking to be minimal as a high pressure system keeps rain out of the forecast until late in the week.

After this next week, the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) shows above average temperatures continuing for the remainder of July. Average high temperatures for the end of this month are around 88 degrees, meaning we can expect to close out July seeing daily high temperatures in the 90s.

The CPC is also showing below average rainfall as we end the month.
