Isolated strong storms through Thursday evening
TODAY: This afternoon begins the trend of slightly cooler weather that will head our way. Thanks to morning showers and storms north of Hwy 24 this morning, cooler weather is already in place in northern Mid-Missouri. Areas south of I-70 is a different story though, as highs will have no problem reaching the low 90s with heat indices reaching 100-105. There is a heat advisory in affect for most mid-Mo counties until 7 PM tonight. Storms will redevelop north of I-70 by mid-afternoon in front of a cold front, pushing south through the evening. Some could be severe with damaging wind or large hail the main threats. TONIGHT: Storms will continue move through the area through the overnight hours. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with lows bottoming out in the upper 70s. EXTENDED: Temperatures will come down a few more degrees Friday with a better chance of storms early, before noon. High temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 80s and heat indices in the lower 90s. The weekend looks mostly sunny with high temperatures in the upper 80s Saturday and lower 90s Sunday. Heat and humidity will climb next week as we reach the low to mid 90s Monday and Tuesday. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
