Hot and humid week ahead with the chance for isolated storms
TODAY: The morning will start off on the pleasant side, but southwesterly winds will bring more moisture into the area in the afternoon. Skies today will be sunny with high temperatures for the day topping off around 90 degrees, with heat indices in the mid to upper 90s . TONIGHT: There is an isolated chance for some spot storms as we head into the evening and overnight hours, mainly along and northeast of I-70. Skies will be partly cloudy with low temperatures in the lower 70s. EXTENDED: The heat and humidity continue to build into Mid-Missouri as a ridge builds into the region. This will bring us our warmest stretch of temperatures we’ve seen all summer, with temperatures in the 90s possible each day and potentially dangerous high heat indices. There is a marginal risk for severe storms to develop north of I-70 with the biggest threat being damaging winds. There will be a continued chance we could see isolated showers and storms each and every day this week. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
