Mild Saturday night, with increasing heat through the week

TONIGHT: It will be a mild night across Mid-Missouri, as temperatures bottom out in the upper 60s. We’ll see mostly clear skies, with winds out of the southeast under 8 mph. SUNDAY: The morning will start off on the pleasant side, but winds wrapping around of the southwest will pull in moisture. Highs through the day will top off near 90 degrees, with heat indices in the mid 90s. The best chance of seeing heat indices in the mid 90s will be for areas along and south of the Ozarks. There is a isolated chance for some spot storms as we head into the evening, mainly along and northeast of I-70. Any storms we do see could potentially go severe, with damaging winds being our main threat.

EXTENDED: The heat and humidity continue to build into Mid-Missouri as a ridge builds into the region. This will bring us our warmest stretch of temperatures we’ve seen on summer, with 90s possible each and every day. Despite the ridge building into the region, there is a chance we could see isolated showers and storms each and every day, with the better chance arriving towards the end of the week. Any storms we see during the afternoon hours will bring the chance for strong winds. The best chance for storms moves in late next week as a cold front moves in, which will bring slightly cooler weather by the weekend.
