A summer like day in store for mid-Mo

TODAY: Through the afternoon we will see mostly sunny skies and temperatures will climb to the upper 80s to near 90. Winds will remain light under 7 mph from the north. It will be a muggy day as heat indices reach into the low 90s.

TONIGHT: Through the evening skies will remain mostly clear as temps drop into the 70s. Overnight we will see a cold front move through mid-Missouri allowing for a spot chance for showers and thunderstorms in northern Missouri. By the morning temperatures will drop into the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: The cold front will slowly move south Friday, but most areas will have a hot and mostly sunny afternoon on as high temperatures reach the upper 80s. Heading into the weekend, we’ll have to watch for rain chances in western Missouri, possibly affecting areas near HWY 65 Saturday morning as a complex of storms moves southeast. Most storm activity is looking to remain to the southwest. Clouds will spread into areas west of HWY 63 Saturday morning from the rain in western Missouri while areas farther east will have more sunshine. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s Saturday. A warm front will move across Mid-Missouri Sunday, giving us a chance of a few showers or t-storms as high temperatures climb into the mid to upper 80s. We will have updates the weekend rain chances as new data comes in. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
