Police standoff in Fulton ends with arrest

A man was taken into custody after a standoff with police in Fulton on Monday night.

The standoff happened in the 200 block of East 6th Street.

Witnesses at the scene told ABC 17 News the suspect, Daniel Nash, threatened another person with an ax.

Police confirmed they determined the threat happened during a verbal dispute.

Around 9:15 p.m., a person claiming to be Nash called the ABC 17 newsroom, saying he was in a standoff with police and believed an officer came to arrest him because a neighbor came up to him with an issue about him working.

Nash told ABC 17 News he warned the person to leave because the person could get hurt by the tool he was using to work on the building.

He said he dove inside the house when the officer arrived.

A search warrant was served, and Fulton Police Officers and Callaway County Deputies entered the home and took Nash into custody.

Nash was taken to the Callaway County Jail for unlawful use of a weapon and felony resisting arrest.
