Boone County gas station shooting suspect charged as getaway driver
A Jefferson City woman was charged Wednesday with hindering prosecution in connection with a shooting at the BP Kwik convenience store that sent two women to the hospital last month.
According to a probable cause statement, witnesses took pictures of the suspect car and its license plates. Investigators were able to confirm with the Missouri Department of Revenue that Alyssia Thorpe, 20, was the registered owner.
One of the victims and one of the witnesses identified Thorpe as the person driving the car at the time of the shooting.
Thorpe later admitted to investigators she was present at the time of the shooting and drove the car away from the scene with the person who fired shots from inside the car.
Thorpe was arrested June 27 and posted bond the next day. A 15-year-old boy was arrested on June 28 on suspicion of hindering prosecution and delinquent behavior in connection with the shooting.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the shooter was still at large. Boone County detectives have not released any information on the suspect.
Thorpe is scheduled for an arraignment hearing July 21.
