Man pleads guilty in sexual assault cases

A sentencing hearing is now scheduled for a man accused in two sexual assaults that happened on the University of Missouri campus in March of 2016.

On Monday, Zachery Jones pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree rape in both cases.

Investigators said both attacks happened the same day. The woman involved in the first attack was able to fight off her attacker and call for help around 4 a.m. A rape was reported by a different person at 11 a.m.

Jones is expected to be sentenced July 17 at 2:30 p.m.
