Two dead after apparent murder-suicide in Moberly
UPDATE 7/3 9:44 a.m.: Joan Marie Householder has been identified as the victim and Norman G Householder has been identified as the shooter.
UPDATE 7/2 10 a.m.: A 60-year-old man shot a 49-year-old woman Saturday night after getting into a dispute with the woman’s daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend, neighbors told ABC 17 News.
Neighbors also said the man attempted to shoot the daughter, who neighbors said is seven months pregnant, before he shot and killed himself.
At this time, police have not released anymore information regarding the shooting.
ABC 17 News is working to confirm the names of the deceased.
ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities in Randolph County are investigating a possible murder-suicide that happened in Moberly Saturday night.
Moberly police officers were called to the 600 block of S. Ault Street just after 8 p.m. for reports of someone being shot.
Officers found a 49-year-old woman dead from an apparent gunshot wound lying in the street. Officers also found a 60-year-old man dead inside the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The identities of the two people were not released late Saturday night.
The Moberly Police Department, Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Randolph County coroner and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating.
