Missourians have four weeks to register for FEMA disaster assistance

According to a release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, homeowners, renters and businesses that have property damage from flooding and the severe storms between April 28 and May 11 of 2017 have four weeks to register and apply for assistance.

You can also apply to the U.S. Small Business Administration for low-interest disaster loans.

The deadline to register is Aug. 1.

People that apply may get money for losses not covered by insurance for basic home repairs, temporary rental assistance and other replacements for personal property needs. The money from FEMA does not need to be repaid.

FEMA is also offering free repair and rebuilding advice, including flood insurance and elevating utilities in Gasconade, Jasper, Jefferson Ozark, Pemiscot, Ripley and St. Louis counties.

In Gasconade County, FEMA advisors will be at Hermann Lumber/Do It Best on 603 Market St. on July 6 to July 8, July 10 and July 11.
