Hot and dry through Sunday afternoon
TODAY: We will start out with dry conditions and abundant sunshine. High temperatures will reach near 90 degrees with low humidity. Winds will be southerly between 3-6 mph. A warm front lifting northward through Mid-Missouri will aid in storm development after midnight tongiht. The greatest threat for the storms initially will be along and west of Hwy 63 with these storm chances increasing as we head into a new work week.
MONDAY: The humid weather returns Monday as high temperatures reach the mid to upper 80s with showers and thunderstorms likely. These thunderstorms will be hit and miss, so we will see some sunshine for our outdoor conditions. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather as we head into Monday. Most of the storms should remain below severe criteria, but enough fuel will be available for some storms to briefly become severe. Any storms we see Monday will have the greatest threat of damaging winds.
EXTENDED: For the Fourth of July, periods of storms are expected all day and overnight across the entire viewing area. Another Marginal Risk for severe weather exists for areas west of US 63 for Tuesday. The primary threat will be isolated thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Accumulation from Monday and Tuesday rain is expected reach near 0.5″-1.5″, with areas to our west seeing the most accumulation. Expect seasonal temperatures this week, reaching into the mid to upper 80s each day. Drier and warmer weather will enter the picture by Thursday with highs in the 90s.
