Mostly clear and remaining dry through Saturday night
TONIGHT: It’s been a beautiful start to the weekend across Mid-Missouri, following a stormy end to the work week. Temperatures through the night will be on the pleasant side, with lows falling into the low to mid 60s across Mid-Missouri. High pressure will gradually shift into the region, leading to mostly clear skies, and a light breeze out of the south under 7 mph, after midnight.
SUNDAY: We will start out with dry conditions and abundant sunshine. High temperatures will reach near 90 degrees with low humidity. Winds will be southwesterly between 6-10 mph. A good portion of the day will remain on the dry side, but as we head into the evening rain chances do increase. A warm front lifting northward through Mid-Missouri will aide in some storm chances mainly after 8 PM. It’s looking likely that the greatest threat for the storms will be along and west of Hwy 63 through Sunday evening, with storm chances on the increase as we head into a new work week. EXTENDED: The humid weather returns Monday as high temperatures reach the mid to upper 80s with showers and thunderstorms likely. There is a marginal risk for severe weather as we head into Monday. Most of the storms should remain below severe criteria, but enough fuel will be available for some storms to briefly become severe. Any storms we see Monday, will have the greatest threat of damaging winds. For the Fourth of July, storms are expected to continue into the evening hours and overnight into Wednesday morning. We will see seasonal temperatures this week, reaching into the mid to upper 80s each day. Drier and warmer weather will enter the picture by the end of next week with highs in the 90s.
