Wanted fugitive caught in Moniteau County after foot chase

Moniteau County Deputies went to a home located on Round Hill Road just north of Tipton on Wednesday to find a wanted fugitive.

When deputies got to the home, one subject jumped into a vehicle and fled. The subject was identified as Steven L. Fairfax Jr., 40, of Bunceton.

Fairfax fled in the vehicle across some fields just north of the home until he came to a stop in the wooded area. Fairfax then led the deputies on a foot chase.

Fairfax was eventually caught and brought into custody. K-9 Mizzou found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia that Fairfax had tried to hide.

Fairfax was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest by fleeing.
