St. Charles man drowns at Lake of the Ozarks

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Thursday that E. D. Smith, 75, was pronounced dead Wednesday at 6:18 p.m.

Troopers said the St. Charles man suffered a “medical issue” Tuesday that caused him to fall into the water.

Smith’s body was later recovered near the 26 mile mark of the Osage Arm.

This is 2017’s fourth drowning death in the Troop F area.
