Man accused of strangling, beating child in Boone County

A Boone County man was charged with child abuse after the child said the man beat and strangled him.

Larry Morris was arrested after a series of interviews and searches this month by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

The child said Morris repeatedly abused him mentally and physically since January.

The child was removed from the home due to the abuse allegations.

Court documents said Morris admitted to having an anger problem and had gone “overboard” when disciplining the child. He said he had “poked” the child hard enough to leave bruises.

A case review is scheduled for July 5.
