Callaway County man charged with child abuse

Callaway County deputies charged a man with child abuse and tampering after he allegedly pushed and threw children at a home in Holts Summit.

Oren Williams was arrested after an investigation started June 20. An official with the Children’s Division had been requested to investigate possible child abuse.

The official spoke with two children, ages 5 and 6. One of them said Williams pushed him against walls and threw him over a baby gate at their home. Williams then threatened the child, threatening to make his injuries worse. A woman also said she’d seen this abuse.

Investigators also learned one of the boys suffered a broken arm as a result of William’s actions. Deputies say Williams admitted to throwing the child and instructing them to not say anything.

Williams is charged with one count of felony child abuse, two counts of tampering with a witness, and one count of tampering with a victim.
