Child sodomy suspect arrested by Cyber Crimes Task Force

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force arrested 27-year-old Darren Lasley Wednesday, after they say he tried to engage in sex with a minor.

The task force report said Lasley was exchanging emails with a cyber crimes detective posing as a 14-year-old girl.

After several emails, the report said Lasley was arraigning to meet the juvenile female in Columbia to engage in sexual conduct.

Lasley was arrested on attempted enticement of a child and second-degree attempted statutory sodomy.

The bond amount for the former charge has not been determined and that of the latter charge is $4,500.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, the University of Missouri Police Department and the FBI.
