Deputies investigate shooting at gas station

UPDATE 6 p.m.: The person who allegedly shot two women at a gas station in Boone County Sunday night supposedly knew the victims, according to a detective with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

The detective said the shooter has not been found.

He also said one woman was released from the hospital and the other continued to be treated for a gunshot wound that is not life-threatening.

UPDATE 6/19– A detective with the Boone County Sheriffs Department said two females were reportedly shot during the incident. They were taken to a local hospital.

The detective said more information should be made available shortly.

ORIGINAL: A Boone County detective confirmed deputies were investigating a shooting at a gas station in the 5700 block of East. St. Charles Road Sunday night.

The detective said several people reported seeing the shooting happen at the BP gas station. He said right now they have no suspect information or details on any victims.

While deputies were investigating at the gas station, ABC 17 News was also at University Hospital where there was a heavy law enforcement presence.

Multiple Columbia Police and University of Missouri Police cars appeared to be blocking off the entrance to the emergency room.

The Boone County detective said they believe the two scenes are related. Deputies wrapped up their investigation at the gas station around midnight.
