More storms tonight, hot and humid Friday

TONIGHT: Storms will move through overnight and could be strong with possible isolated strong wind gusts and hail up to 1 inch. These will weaken as they east in the early morning hours, ending by 8 AM Friday. Lows will drop to near 70 by morning.

FRIDAY: Early morning showers will end and Friday will be another hot and muggy day with temperatures rising into the lower 90s and heat indices in the upper 90s. Isolated afternoon storms are possible.

EXTENDED: We are watching for another cluster of storms to move in from the northwest Friday night, spreading southeast through early Saturday morning. Isolated strong wind gusts or large hail are possible. Saturday will be partly cloudy, hot & humid with highs in the low 90s and heat indices near 100 in the afternoon. Heat indices could climb as high as 107 in our northwestern counties Saturday. Storms will increase Saturday evening north of I-70 ahead of a cold front and will spread south through the night. These could be severe with damaging wind and large hail the primary threats. Rain ends Sunday morning as the cold front moves south, and cooler, less humid air moves in. High temperatures will stay in the low-mid 80s Sunday afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Dry weather will continue for the start of next work week with highs in the upper 80s.
