MU football player arrested on drug charges
UPDATE 3:53 p.m.: Howard was charged with a Class D Felony for possession of a controlled substance. His bond is set at $4,500.
UPDATE 12:03 p.m.: Howard was arrested at 7:04 p.m. by officers after he was stopped on Providence for expired tags.
Police found mushrooms and marijuana in Howard’s vehicle.
UPDATE 9:13 a.m.: Mizzou Football responded Thursday morning to the arrest of Nate Howard.
“We are aware of the situation and are addressing it internally,” the organization told ABC 17 News. “Nate is suspended indefinitely.”
ORIGINAL: A Mizzou defensive end is facing drug charges after his arrest by MUPD late Wednesday.
Nate Howard was taken to Boone County Jail for possession of a controlled substance and other charges.
The 20-year-old player has been a part of the defensive line rotation for the Tigers the last two seasons and is entering his junior year.
