Columbia vehicle fires ruled suspicious

Early Monday morning, Columbia firefighters responded to the 1600 block of Paris Road for a vehicle fire. When they arrived on scene they saw a car fully engulfed by flames.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire within five minutes.

About 20 minutes later, firefighters were dispatched to a second vehicle fire in the 1800 block of Gordon Street. Crews found a vehicle engulfed with flames. Crews were able to extinguish the fire.

No one was hurt in either fire.

The location on Paris and the location on Gordon street is less than a half a mile away.

Investigators were called to the scene and are working with the Columbia police department on the incident.
